Our Story

SAAH Rise — where Saah means life and Rise symbolizes growth and upliftment. It is a student-led initiative dedicated to breathing life into the untold stories of women who have led change and inspired transformation. Our mission is to highlight these powerful narratives and build a platform that nurtures and empowers the next generation of women leaders.

For decades, the contributions of Pakistani women, their struggles, resilience, leadership, and vision, have often been overlooked or left undocumented. At SAAH Rise, we believe these stories are not just testimonies of the past; they are seeds of future leadership. By bringing these voices to light, we aim to inspire young women to dream boldly, lead fearlessly, and transform their communities.

But our journey doesn’t end with storytelling. Our deeper purpose is to create an ecosystem that encourages, mentors, and equips more women to step into leadership roles, whether in activism, politics, education, arts, or community development. We believe that every woman carries within her the potential to lead, and with the right support and inspiration, she can become a force for change.

SAAH Rise is more than a platform; it’s a movement. A movement to rewrite narratives, challenge patriarchal norms, and ensure that women’s leadership is not an exception but a norm. Here, stories become sparks, and those sparks grow into flames of chang,e lighting the path for countless new leaders to rise.

Breast Cancer Awareness Door-to-Door Campaign

As part of our commitment to promoting women’s health and early detection, we conducted a door-to-door breast cancer awareness campaign in the local community. The initiative aimed to educate women about the importance of regular self-examinations, early screening, and timely medical consultation. Through interactive conversations and informational pamphlets, we addressed common myths and encouraged women to prioritize their health. This campaign not only spread vital knowledge but also created a safe space for open dialogue on a topic often considered taboo, empowering women to take proactive steps toward their well-being.

Empowering Minds: Nurturing the Potential of Out-of-School Children

Whenever I get some free time, I choose to spend it with out-of-school children in my community children who, despite lacking access to formal education, are full of potential, curiosity, and creativity. I try to teach them whatever I can, from basic literacy to life skills, and every moment spent with them reminds me that they are far more than their circumstances. They are brilliant minds waiting for opportunities to shine. All they need is guidance, encouragement, and a belief in their abilities and I feel privileged to play even a small part in nurturing their dreams.

Music isn’t just a sound it’s nourishment for the soul and a powerful medium of expression. With this belief, We have organized several musical nights at my university, always striving to create inclusive spaces where women artists can shine. Advanced Women Leadership Course

A Life-Changing Experience During the Advanced Women Leadership Course – Indigenous Strategies for Women’s Progress, I had the opportunity to meet some truly inspiring women leaders whose journeys deeply motivated me and became the driving force behind starting this page. One of my greatest inspirations is Dr. Fouzia Saeed’s book TAPESTRY, which fueled my passion to create a platform that highlights women’s stories and brings their hidden struggles to light. This training holds a very special place in my heart not only because of the knowledge and inspiration I gained but also because I had the honor of attending it alongside my former teacher, Dr. Madiha. Sharing a platform with her was one of the proudest moments of my journey, a true milestone for any student. This experience reminded me why we need more spaces for women’s leadership and storytelling, and it continues to guide my commitment to gender equality and social change.

Breaking Barriers Through Sports: Empowering Women Beyond the Field

At Saah Rise, we strongly believe that women’s participation in sports is essential for building confidence, leadership, and a sense of empowerment. Sports not only promote physical well-being but also help break gender stereotypes that often discourage women from engaging in athletic activities. In line with this vision, our founder Dur E Najaf organized a Sports Week exclusively for the students of the Gender Studies Department. The initiative aimed to create a safe and encouraging environment where women could express themselves freely, explore their potential, and experience the joy of teamwork and healthy competition. Through this event, Saah Rise continues to advocate for greater inclusion of women in all spheres of life including sports challenging the traditional barriers that limit their participation and celebrating their strength, resilience, and spirit.
